GenLeT Electric Inc. was selected as the electrical contractor for this beautiful custom home based on the owner’s knowledge that they would be able to work with us in a design build system that would see an end result that was both economical and customized to their every need both now and in the future thanks to our ability to leverage technology, allowing the house to intuitively manage its energy use and allow user override even from another country.

NAC Box Office Relocation 54 Elgin Street

GenLeT Electric Inc. won the challenging subcontract to perform all electrical tenant fit-up work for the new National Art Centre satellite box office and had only 4 weeks to complete all work (power, lighting, fire alarm, security, access control, CCTV and communications) from date of contract award to client move-in. As an extra challenge to this seemingly impossible task, the entire project took place inside the registered national historic Central Chambers building at the corner of Elgin Street and Queen Street in Ottawa.

Shoppers Drugmart #910 Merivale Mall Renovation

As a national organization with exacting standards, Shoppers Drug Mart selected GenLeT Electric Inc. as the electrical contractor for this project completely renovating and doubling in size the existing store while it remained open throughout the entire 3-month schedule.

GenLeT’s expertise in delivering excellent quality on highly aggressive timelines, often in actively operating retail environments was proven yet again on this job, including a substantial addition to the original scope during construction without any impact on scheduled delivery dates.

Ottawa Little Theatre Facade

GenLeT Electric Inc. was proud to be selected by the Ottawa Little Theatre to turn their façade improvement dream into reality.

Working with all interested parties to select products that would both work and fit the budget was extremely rewarding when the results were so well received!

Lord Elgin Hotel Suites Renovation

The Lord Elgin Hotel is an Ottawa heritage landmark dating back to 1941. GenLeT was contracted for a complete refresh of all 355 guest rooms and suites (including corridors), as well as a complete fire alarm system upgrade and new Wi-Fi infrastructure. The work was conducted while the hotel remained fully operational, which necessitated ongoing management and mitigation of any disruption of the life safety systems from noise, dust or other construction activities.

By leveraging our expertise and experience in planning, quality assurance, risk management and hour-by-hour scheduling, the project proceeded at an accelerated yet controlled pace.

Jeanne D’Arc Medical Centre

GenLeT Electric Inc. was proud to be asked to build a multi-function space for a large medical practice that incorporated a medical clinic, pharmacy and physiotherapy office within a single 10,000 square foot space in Orleans. With two reception areas and the retail element of the pharmacy to consider, the construction required detailed project management in order to deliver the project on schedule and within a tight timeframe.

GenLeT was responsible for the entire electrical distribution, lighting, power, fire alarm, security, telephone, data and public address system.

With more than 15 professionals working in the same space, the clinic design and construction process had to be accommodating to various needs and preferences. GenLeT excels at this type of collaborative input that allows our customers to achieve their vision, budget and schedule.

OPG Swisha PA System

We had to design, supply, install and commission a new public address system inside the third largest hydro generating station in Ontario while it stayed 100% operational. Upon successful completion of Commissioning and acceptance by OPG, we demolished the original existing PA system which was at end of life.

Due to late material delivery the original 12-week schedule had to be compressed into 8 weeks.

Mountain Chute Fire Panel

Artistic Lighting for Pedestrian Tunnel

Prime contractor for National Capital Commission bid spec job to supply, install and commission new pedestrian tunnel artistic lighting in two tunnels along the Trans Canada Trail in downtown Ottawa.

The lighting design used two different types of lights: a projector style and a frame style combined with a 16 million color DMX programmable effects controller which allows for a lighting effect that is dramatic while dynamic, creating emotions that construct an experience for the users. The experience contributes to higher popularity of the tunnels, reduced vandalism and higher visibility to artists and exhibitions in the area.

GenLeT’s experience in design build facilitated a close working relationship with the numerous stakeholders in this project to ensure an end product that exceeded expectations.

Thermographic Scanning for National Capital Region

GenLeT Electric Inc. was selected to conduct an infrared thermographic scan of all electrical equipment shown in the Electrical Single Line Drawing of 4 major PWGSC buildings in Ottawa in 2016 and produce reports of findings.

Snubbers Installation

GenLeT was selected by the National Research Council of Canada to supply and install high voltage snubbers from South Africa at building M-10 in Ottawa to solve a power quality issue. This was the first time this product was installed in Ontario and required special field CSA certification and a custom design to suit site conditions. The entire installation was a complete success and has since been applied as a solution in dozens of facilities and is now often offered as an optional component from switchgear and transformer manufacturers.

10th Line Minisub Mods Jan 2017

GenLeT Electric was selected by the manufacturer of high voltage mini substations to design and install supplemental heating to mitigate a temporary humidity concern in two (2) units installed by another contractor in Ottawa.

Only one shutdown for the installation per unit was permitted so the entire design and preparation had to be done using nothing but available shop drawings and past experience.
